KYW 1060 AM, the way that it is being run and how the presentation sounds on air is terrible. They need to make major upgrades in terms of hiring better talent, changing its broadcast schedule around so the anchors can consistently be on time with the segments. I would also like 1060 to start airing CBS News on the hour on a 24/7 basis and air 60 Minutes on Sundays. KYW, just like WPHT has declined a lot and CBS needs to fix this. Thoughts?

Yes. KYW has kicked major butt for almost 50 years now. Why should they change?
I know, but at some-point, CBS is going to want their hourly newscasts on a 24/7 basis to be heard on 1060 live, air 60 minutes, and they want 1060 to follow a similar schedule like WCBS or WBBM. I know philly is the exception, but that's likely to change this year.

CBS owns them. If it were nearly as important to them as it inexplicably seems to be to you, they could do it. They don't. Perhaps there's a quite good reason for that.

1060 and 1210 are both poor IMO. My opinions on both stations are unlimited.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to want them to do less local and more syndicated. You want KYW to run CBS News and 60 Minutes, and you want PHT to replace a local talk show with Hannity. Doesn't this seem odd to you? Especially when so many people want the opposite from radio stations?

No it doesn't. It doesn't make sense to air a tape delayed show at night on a major signal station like 1210 and to let a guy like Dick Morris host an afternoon show. It doesn't make sense that CBS news is not heard 24/7 in Philly and 60 Minutes not being aired in a top 10 market like Philly. that's why I'm suggesting that these changes should be made, as much as you disagree with me on this, but that's how I feel as a listener. Common sense has to prevail here. 1060 and 1210 should follow the lead of the other CBS radio O and O's

Common sense has prevailed. You just don't agree with it. They run more local because they make more money with local programming.

I don't agree with that philosophy in 1210's case, other stations yeah , because if they wanted to get Rush back, they should have aired hannity live, not on delay like WLS and others do and make a sacrifice and willing to take a hit in the afternoon so Hannity can get live clearance in a top 10 market like Philly once again. I'm in favor of more syndicated programming because the local shows on 1210 suck. 1210's talk format basically died the moment they hired Dick Morris last year. You don't hire a jerk like that for a major drive time slot on a major station like WPHT. Its a miracle its been 10 months since he started hosting. I don't see his show lasting through the Phillies season. i think 1210 will wise up and Hannity will get the afternoon slot and the station going live and local at night once again, following the Phillies games.

Their job is not to take a hit for another company. Their job is get the best deal they can, just as Premiere's job is to do the best they can. WPHT takes a hit by devoting three hours to a show they were not terribly interested in, and Premiere gets a clearance but not live. Each gives a little, each gets a little. That's entirely common sense. Not your taste, for whatever reason, but entirely logical. Conditions may well change later on, as we've seen before. But at this time, there is a very sound reason for doing it this way.

I would suggest that we all write e-mails and call to KYW Newsradio and tell them to start carrying CBS News on the hour on a 24/7 basis and 60 Minutes on Sundays. http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/station/kyw-newsradio/ I would do it today, before they move to their new location tomorrow. or contact
