Heard the promos all week on 106.3 WORD. I assume that they are going to flip the AM side. I can't imagine sports taking over FM on an Entercom station.
It's about time something different was done with the AM's. Greg McKinney of the morning show on 98.9 is going to do an afternoon show.
i think moving mckinney to a sports talk show is an indication that they are about to make format changes on 98.9 mckinney was the last of the programmers that had success on that frequency
97.1 in Spartanburg is back off the air as of a few days ago...I was able to hear 97.1 The River from Atlanta up here in Gaffney last night with little effort. I wonder if they're in the process of moving the transmitter location after their tower fell down (along with 1400 AM's signal). I see an application to move to the WHRZ tower in downtown Spartanburg, but with a lower HAAT their signal probably won't get out as far. They're already on HD3 on 93.7, I'm glad they added that HD channel, and didn't touch my favorite (93.7 HD2). How was Entercom able to start with ESPN Radio, was 1400 ESPN sold to them too? I wonder what they'll become when they come back on, if they rebuild their tower...
Yup, 93.7 WFBC-HD3 just went on about 2 weeks ago, for the first few days it simulcasted News Radio WYRD from 106.3, but now it's simulcasting ESPN Upstate, which is also on 1330 in Greenville / 950 in Spartanburg. So I wonder whats gonna happen to 1400 once the come back online, since ESPN moved. Also I mentioned that 97.1 may be moving to the same tower in Spartanburg that already has 104.1 (Hangar Radio Z) it says they're 47 watts (I think they're using more than that) because their signal has always been strong enough here to make it well into Cherokee County towards Gaffney, even with the 104.3 translator here. 97.1 has never been so good up here, even at 250 watts it struggles to make it past Cowpens (probably because of WKKT).I don't get 97.1 so you're saying that 93.7 HD3 broadcasts ESPN Radio?
93.7 HD2 is a Rhythmic AC called "FunkyTown" playing a 50/50 mix of dance/house/freestyle/disco music from the 70s to 90s mixed in with newer hits...No commercials so I like to leave it on all day sometimes.and Also, just curious, what's on 93.7 HD2 these days. I know it used to be comedy, but have no idea what it is now (no longer have an HD radio).

I hope this format is tried further on the analog side, would make a strong competitor for WMYI.
