I honestly don't know what to think just yet....
There are some things I like. The listener call ins are always interesting. Some of the discussions they have are interesting. I DO like Annie. the stuff and situations she gets into that no one else would seem to encounter remind me an awful lot of my life. Makes for interesting conversation. Sheila seems to have her act together as well.
But the Audio processing makes the show tougher to listen too. It goes from real loud, to real soft and back to real loud again. And when it's loud, the voices are almost DROWNED OUT.
I also am on the fence with meatballs. I don't really think he's cut out for this kind of interviewing work. The funniest things I've found him
do haven't been the interviews he's brought in, but the stuff that happens to him WHILE trying to get interviews. Being ratted out by the hamster
wheel guy, and Being punched in the face for instance. Everything else I just keep on thinking "Brad Blanks would have made it interesting".
best way I can describe him is he reminds me of a TMZ reporter more than anything... He also really doesn't have a voice for radio either.
But hey, it's better than I can do on the radio, so I'm willing to give him a few months to see if he improves.
The other thing I can do without are the phone scams this time around. I think their time has come to be retired. Maybe I'm just getting older, but but out of the ten or so we've had so far (15?) I've only felt three where worth air checking.
Heh, I wouldn't make a good columnists reviewer. I hate saying anything that could be conceived of as negative, since people do really try hard to put on something good, and get so offended at anything coming close to criticism these days, but just curious if anyone else still listening is on the same wave length. I know this isn't really the board for PLJ discussions ;o).
I'm also curious on ratings...drop, or increase?
