Does anyone how to stop texts from iheart radio?

My android phone kept making the texting alarm but when I checked I could not find any texts. I thought I was losing my mind until eventually I found the iheart app was leaving advertisements normally where I pull down to see system messages for program updates, wifi, etc. It really pissed me off.

I was able to turn it off by going into the iheartapp, touched the 3 bars and selected "push notifications". Under push notifications there were options to turn all notifications off or by category.

iHate iHeart.

Not the app per se but the garbage they insert into the programming. I listen to news and news/talk radio so I don't want to hear a teenage girl who sounds so excited she's about to throw up reciting a list of top 10 songs or top 10 TV shows with a drum track and whooshes in the background. It shouldn't be too difficult for iHeart to run features that are appropriate to the programming.

Also we could use a lot fewer "Ad Council" spots. Hey iHeart, if the app is so great, sell some ads!
