Adding Your Stream To TuneIn and others

Wondering what other outlets allow you to add your stream, i.e. TuneIn and such??

How do you get more listeners to your station?

iTunes, Stitcher and Tune-In are the major ones that you must be on. If you're streaming via Shoutcast, you want to of course be certain to be listed there.

If you've not already done so, you need to be plugged into Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).

You might want to do some advertising. If you've got a music station, good luck as there are TONS of music stations and standing out is very difficult. I've got a talk radio station and it's a bit easier to stand out as the competition isn't as immense, but it's tough as well. We had 500,000 TTSL in 2013, on pace now to hit 750,000 TTSL for 2014, assuming that we maintain the pace we've set in the 1st quarter. The station will be 4 years old on May 1st. So, we've done fairly well as like all stations, we started at ZERO listeners and virtually no listening hours per month.

You are so right. Seems like every day I discover a new listing service or a client brings one to my attention. So I try to make sure I list my station on them all. Recently I just listed with Radio Bucket. http://radiobucket.com/

Also glad to hear about your success. I know you must have worked very hard. My company has created a platform for stations like yours in mind.

I've never heard of RadioBucket.....just goes to prove the point that there are a lot of syndication/directory sites. If you visit my website and look at the right sidebar, you can see some other websites that we're listed on. There are more than those, but I felt like those were the best well known, etc.

You have a great looking site. I notice you are using Look Something for your apps too. They are pretty good, but I use Nobex because they provide an app for all the app stores and share half the revenue with me. Also their service is free. Also I see the stream hosting service you are using in your player. OMG, these people have hated me for years and attack me every chance they get in another forum.

Thanks Radiojar! Yep, Nobex offers free custom mobile apps. Add your station: www.nobexradio.com/StationWiki.aspx then check out NobexPartners.com once you're all set up and you'll have a live app in 7-10 days. Easy!

I am currently using the Radiotuna www.radiotuna.com app on my station's page. You can set that up and have it going in about an hour (once you're listed on their site).

I'm also on Nobex. I'll have to check out Radiobucket.

Thanks for the compliment on the website. I just recently got rid of Look Something. They didn't do anything bad, just that with all the listener I had, I think I had less than 150 Android downloads (Apple doesn't provide stats) and I couldn't see forking over the subscription again. I tried Nobex and was approved on a Sunday (today), didn't expect that. I feel I can't go wrong with this deal. Even if I never make the first penny in revenue, I figured I'm way ahead and providing this to the hard core listeners and it goes beyond Android and iPhone. It's got Blackberry, Windows Phone and even Android Tablet.

Thanks again.

P.S. If you mean Wavestreaming.........in my case, very happy customer and they've worked with me to resolve some technical issue specifically for the way a talk radio station runs vs music station. Long story, but they've earned their money with me.........at least for the past four years.
