Had a BLAST working with Zippo and SMN gang in late 80's into late 90's (ABC)...Put Pure Gold on air of new FM and it went to the top in every category...positioned with as much local flavor as possible including local news and in market visits from pretty muuch the entire air staff. We didn't pot it up and walk away...and it proved itself, especially in sales...sold out month after month year after year and Zippo in the Morning was our anchor. A Great guy to work with and a truly great jock and person. ...oh yeah...he has a great woman behind him..probably has a lot to do with it all!...haha

I worked in Parkersburg from 1981-1983. There's been talk (although not recently) of a Parkersburg radio reunion. Would love to come back and visit the 'burg after 31 years.

Thanks for the kind words, rkbish! Parkersburg/Marietta was a great market. You ran your station impressively by taking advantage of every opportunity for localization. The numbers of callers coming in from your area was impressive, too. We had some great times doing "Zippo Power Weekends" where you would use Jim from sun up to sun down in remote broadcasts/appearances/sock hops, etc., which made Jim part of your local community...pressing the flesh and getting to know your listeners. We always had fun coming to see you there, not just because you were a great guy, but you knew how to utilize satellite to your station's best advantage and it was great seeing the success first hand in your market!

To ErieDJ- a reunion would be a lot of fun! We have to try to make that happen! :)
