WWJW 51 off the air

Last night I noticed that WWJW 51 was not on the air on DirectTV. It's been a day now and I was wondering in anyone knows if the feed was down or 51 is no longer a channel? Thanks.

Are you talking about WWJX? They moved from 51 to 23 some time ago. They are still up on Comcast and OTA, so it might be a problem at the DirecTV headend.

I just checked at 9:45 a.m. and I still get a 771 signal on DirectTV when going to 51 as well as 35. Also the non-HD feeds for Channels 3, 12, 16, 29 and 40 post the 771 signal while the HD 3, 12, 15, 29 and 40 come in. I take it this is DirectTV's problem.???

Any word on if this station ever plans to go full power as it was supposed too? Originally supposed to be 1 million watts on channel 51. Now only 20,000 on channel 23 with an application to increase to 150,000. Thats still low power, and won't improve the signal much. BTW. anyone know about Jackson State getting a license for channel 14? the station was originally very low power on ch 23, but has been off the air for years. Channel 14 is still fairly low power, but might get out better than the old channel.
