WSNE / WWLI Ratings....

I haven't delved in much beyond the overall ratings...but it appears WSNE is doing much better and is neck and neck with WWLI.

Is it just the music on WSNE that is making it perform better?

Anything going on at WWLI to make it sound less appealing these days?

Coast sounds good, CT turned it around. I wish Matty worked out but for a jukebox PPR friendly format they sound good and local. A local morning show would be nice, Toby kind of drops little teasers and directs you to the web site.

Has Toby made any effort to sound local, other than mentioning the station by name? I know that he tracks daily shows in at least three other markets (including his live PM Drive show in D.C.), so his time to research local markets is probably limited. But it would be nice if he at least sounded like he knew something about the area.

Yes he sounds local to the avg listener, gives the temp at local landmarks and mentions other things. He visited at least once that I know for some promotion at the Biltmore.

Prediction

You're going to see those ratings even out quiiiiiiite a bit in the coming weeks.

Closest thing we have to a radio war I guess

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Providence hasn't had a serious radio war since the PRO-FM v. JB-105 days in the late 70's/early 80's.
