Local news updates on WPHT

I would like to know why has WPHT stopped airing local news updates from 9 AM on, Monday-Friday? its been that way for several weeks now.

Because there's a co-owned station that already does news?

How do you know that? You don't listen anymore. Maybe they think if a listener wants local news, they can go to KYW. Still CBS.

I am furious since the Phillies opened with night games Hannity has been on until 2AM, taking time from CTCAM. 1210 continues to ignore CTCAM time slots, moving Hannity back for those rotton Phillies and these insane sports fans...

The news department advised management that man on the street interviews indicated that news junkies listened to KYW for news but only Juls among WPHT was listening to the ststion for that purpose?

In markets in which one company does not own both an all news station and the leading right-wing talk station, the talk station does TOH news. Maybe some people would just as soon get a three and a half minute summary to make sure the world hasn't blown up instead of giving CBS 22 minutes (actually a half hour). Contrary to what some programmers seem to think, there is a place for a news update in a format based on other types of content.

The news came from Shadow/Metro and it's no longer co-owned with CBS. Maybe CBS local management decided they are already giving too much money (or avails) to Clear Channel for traffic reports.

If CBS were smart (note: a big "if") they'd have had KYW feed TOH news to 1210, with a reminder that more details are available at 1060. Alternatively, they could have done the same with TOH news from CBS3, like KYW now does with weather and WOGL does with traffic, and like KYW does with sports from WIP.
