Interesting how most of those are from the other side of the lake. From what I've heard about ground conductivity in northern Michigan, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I bet it's a really interesting place for DX -- I remember getting signals from all over during vacations in Door County, WI years ago. There were a lot fewer FMs on the dial in those days too.

The near lack of AM stations in northern Michigan also factors. There is only one AM within 45 miles of Manistee, and it is a graveyard AM that uses FM translators to increase its coverage. I've never been to the Door Peninsula, but I would expect some lower Michigan FMs to be near local strength at times, as several Wisconsin FMs can get into Manistee and Ludington with local strength at times (88.5, 90.5, 93.9, 99.7, 101.1, and 105.7 mostly)
