Rick Sanchez (WIOD, Florida / formerly CNN) is hosting the morning show on WOR this morning. So far, not so good.

WIOD is also owned by Clear Channel. Rick does 10 to Noon on WIOD. This is the first time Hilairie Barsky is not doing the morning show since that Elliot disaster two and a half months ago. Each half hour began with "The WOR Morning show with guest host Hilary Barskie". The 7AM hour was almost a cold open. Wonder if he will be the new host? Hilarie did a good job, but the words "guest host" seemed to last a long time.

Exactly.

I refuse to listen to WOR in the morning anymore -- not because Barsky is a terrible host -- she's just mediocre and that's not acceptable in the #1 radio market.

Since the Imus show has actually become bad radio, and Joe Piscopo (where he can be heard) is dreadful, I guess there's no strong competition and CC is in no hurry to find a permanent host for WOR.

Imus has been making noises about moving to Texas. If he or Cumulus manages to break his contract I suspect Curtis & Kuby will be in AM Drive faster than you can blink. Then CC will have to scramble instead of acting preemptively.
