I wish at some point, I wish somebody would show the original 50s film noir ("my partner's Frank Smith") Dragnet, and not the police PR/reefer madness anti-drug ("my partner's Bill Gannon") Dragnet. Much as I love Harry Morgan, Dragnet 6* is just lame. And even with a buzz cut, Jack Webb ain't no R. Lee Ermey (more like Frank Sutton).

And I hope these are the real Audrey Meadows Honeymooner, not the Sheila MacRae Honeymooners.

I haven't seen Tom Hanks in a dress for a long time. Curious to see how Bosom Buddies holds up.

Glad to see Rockford return for a Daily Dose, wish I knew if this was going to impact the Sunday afternoon lineup though. If they leave Streets of San Francisco, Cannon and Kojak in place, I'll be good.

Do the 35mm originals to the '50s Dragnet still exist? All I've ever seen--on YouTube, for example--are crummy 16mm prints.

I watched the originals on a black and white TV with rabbit ears wrapped in foil. Even a 16mm print will be a heck of a lot better than what I originally saw!

Sadly, many of the Original Dragnet episodes are considered lost. Jack Webb produced the series himself, and just never kept track of them. The 35mm masters are either destroyed, and just hidden away somewhere, waiting to be found.

I remember, speaking of Dragnet 5*, KOMO-TV every Christmas Eve back in Seattle (late 1990s/early 2000s) would ax the 11PM news to show Dragnet's "The Big Little Jesus" from 1953. Their print was 16MM and looked like crap, but ch 4 hasn't done that for many years - instead making news people work on Christmas Eve night. Even on X-Mas, gotta get that news story about a fire in who knows where out to the public!

From what I heard, Webb had the original prints to the '50s episodes stored in a warehouse, and sometime in the '70s he tossed them rather than continue to pay for their storage. The prints that survive are often syndication prints (retitled "Badge 714"), though there are a few extant network prints with the original cigarette commercials. Apparently more episodes of the Dragnet radio show survive than the original TV episodes.

I like it, the Sunday 'Catch Me' block is preserved. Adam-12 three times a day though? They'll run through that series in very short order. There's only like 120 episodes or something. Great show though.

It just figures that ME-TV going to begin showing multiple episodes of Adam 12 when I'm going to be losing ME-TV in a month or 2. I live in Connecticut and get ME-TV via ME-TV New York WZME Bridgeport (Seymour), Connecticut and WZME is being forced to drop ME-TV because a real NYC station is picking up ME-TV in a month or 2. I seriously doubt my cable company will carry the new ME-TV New York because they don't carry any out-of-market channels except for WGBY the PBS station out of Springfield, Mass.

Meanwhile ME-TV will be losing Adam 12 and Dragent in 2015. Both will be moving over to COZI TV. Kind of strange that they're moving to COZI. COZI will be the 3rd digi net to get the shows. Dragnet and Adam 12 were on Antenna TV for a couple of years. Then moved over to ME-TV. And as I mentioned they will be moving to COZI in 2015.

I guess the silver lining in all this is that Connecticut may finally get a state-wide ME-TV affiliate. Media General just bought out LIN-TV and Media General has an agreement with ME-TV is several markets, so hopefully they'll put ME-TV on WCTX 59.2

Well, at the rate they'll be showing Adam-12, if you get the DVR or VCR fired up, you could have the complete series in a short time.....
