KZAM in the '70s initially had a mostly female airstaff at one time and a mostly acoustic format. Then after Sandusky bought them, went to to an Adult Rock format before becoming AC KLSY in 1983. KZAM was NEVER a Top 40 station or played anything CLOSE to it.[/QUOT
Sorry. I should have noted that when KZAM was a mixture of Top 40 and album cuts it was only for a little while in 1975. "You're No Good" by Linda Ronstadt, then "Stormbringer" by Deep Purple, then "Autobahn" by Kraftwerk. It must have been an interim format until they put together an air staff for the acoustic-progressive format that KZAM is famous for.
