Saturday Night Live starts unloading dead weight

I'm relatively new to the show since I started watching every episode when they had the prime time condensed reruns.

They need Seth back, but I guess with his schedule even Weekend Update is probably too much, even he didn't write that. He wouldn't have to do any writing.

I quickly realized Bill Hader was the best cast member they had and he's gone. Later I realized Fred Armisen was second. Vanessa Bayer, Aidy Bryant and Bobby Moynihan are the best people they've got now. Kenan is pretty good too.

I'm sure it's not what it was in the Dan Aykroyd/John Belushi era, but it's not that bad.

If you like it, great. I'm not even comparing it to the past. I literally have tried to watch and don't laugh. Not even once. I like Kenan. I agree Moynihan is pretty talented. I see no talent in Armisen or Hader.

I think it's the writing. New age snark. Probably passed me by, I just don't like the show any more.

Saturday Night Live has had a revolving door regarding their casts since the Not Ready For Primetime Players all left by 1980 or earlier. Since then, there have been shakeups in the cast every season. Sometimes it's only a few people, sometimes it's a lot of people. It has been on the air for 39 seasons, for crying out loud! This latest change in cast is nothing new.

I watched the Brooks Wheelan "butter" story on Weekend Update and didn't think it was funny.
