Can someone give the lowdown on WROW- AM?

I'm in central CT so I can't hear them here and when I try to stream from their website it tells me I'm outside their area. I've never seen that before on a stream.

What I'd like is if someone could give me a playlist from their AM drive; any hour 6am to 9am. I just want to get a feel for what they play and who they're targeting. 5KW at 590 should give them a nice coverage area. How are they doing in the ratings?

Thanks

Not sure where in Central CT you are located, but I can pick them up (weak, but somewhat listenable) on my car radio in the parking lot of Stop & Shop on Pine Street in Bristol, CT. I have a stock radio in a '95 Pontiac Sunfire.

I'm hearing the station fine in NJ. Here's the website...

www.AlbanyMagic.com

I know I've tried to listen to KFMB-FM San Diego and they stop me because I'm not in Southern California. But I'm surprised that WROW does that.

Thanks for posting, but neither one of the replies is in the least bit helpful. I live in Central CT but not near the parking lot of the Stop & Shop on Pine Street in Bristol.

And it's good to know that you're hearing the station fine in NJ. But I can't get it here in CT and I already have the website address. The stream doesn't work where I am.

They are blocking the stream in PA, too.

There are a lot of Oldies streams online. You might try "Real Oldies" on IHeartRadio.

It must be a Pamal thing to block out of the area listeners from tuning into their stations online, which is stupid. I got the same "Out of the area" message when I tried to listening to Magic's HIP-HOP sister station 96.3 JAMZ and COUNTRY sister station in VERMONT CAT COUNTRY. I was able to however get the stream for their Top 40 station K-104.7 and AAA formated 107.1 THE PEAK.

Streaming is done by streamtheworld.com, part of Triton Media. Only reason I can think of for this is the station's rates are based on the number of hits they get and they want to keep the number down by blocking out of area listeners. And, yes, it is stupid.

If you want the playlist, either call them up and ask them for it or drive closer.

Why is it stupid to geoblock? There's no way to monetize out of market listeners. Why should the broadcaster pay for you to listen with no potential return on investment?
