Gambling makes some news

What surprised me about C-C booting out Gambling was that he seemed the near-perfect candidate for syndication.

Who, outside of New York, would carry him? That's the problem with syndicated talk now...with all the copycats, there is no advantage to carry a syndicated guy who does the same act as your local guy. There's nothing about Gambling that translates to people in any other place. The only thing he's got in NYC is heritage.

Maybe you have a point -right now- but you could say that about any of the stuff that is on there now. Look, today we have syndication even in AM drive -except for Stern, that would have been unthinkable just 16 years ago. In this declining sector of the industry everything is going centralized/syndicated. IMO.

The presumed advantage in a doofus like Gambling is that he can still appeal to the blue-hairs while not overtly offending whatever slightly younger listeners might stumble-in and stay. Droning blowhards are on the way out.
