Palm Springs Ratings and billing, then and now?

Hi,

These questions are for the experts on this board including DJ'S past or present, and consultants, just wondering who was the top 5 billers back In the early 90's were, as well as the ratings for the stations, I know the system is different now for ratings, but I was trying to compare how different the market is now. Ratings, racially, and billing wise.

I think ratings wise the biggies back then we're 92.7, 93.7, 104.7 when it was there, and 98.5.

Any comments would be welcome.

Here is a link to an edition of Duncan's American Radio, Small Market Edition, for Spring 1992. Scroll down to Palm Springs and you will find the ratings data.

There is no source for historical billings for small markets that I know of. Billing data is not public information, so it is not readily accessible.

The ratings system outside the 48 PPM markets is essentially the same (with minor refinements) as it was in 1992. So the numbers are quite comparable with what you will find on AllAcces.com and other sites that post the numbers.

You can look at other Small Market editions by going to http://www.americanradiohistory.com/Duncan-American-Radio-Issue-Guide.htm

I enjoyed the SRDS books that posted rates. We knew what Stoltz was charging for his 1500 AM yet it never made it on the air!

Wow those SRDS books are more fun reading today, thanks David! I think the 82 book has a defective scan as the Stations by State AL-FL seemed to just bring up a single page unlike the other sections. Thanks for posting those!

It should be working fine now. Do a refresh on your browser and give it a try.

Honestly no, the PDF for the 1982 Small Market Al-FL still only brings up a single page starting with the word Alabama and ending with WKAC in the 4th Colum. It could be cashed in my browser now yet GA to MN & MS to NY & NC to WY works great. I'm not looking for anything specific, just appreciate all the time you took to do the things you do!

Thanks. I was fixing the '85 issue instead. Dumb. But thanks for the comment... and if any user spots an error... with 2,000,000 pages on the site there are definitely some of them... please use the site link and let me know. I've scanned over 90,000 pages this month, so my eyes are very blurry!
