KTAC 850 Oldies?

KTAC 85 was a popular music/top 40 station in the 1970's. I only am aware of this because my parents have some old KTAC 85 gear laying around from their 70's school days ;)

Yes, they ran a syndicated oldies format prior to simulcasting KMTT.

In the 1960s and early 70's at least, KTAC was Top 40, competing with KJR and KOL, and then KING also.

KTAC was the dominant Top 40 station for Tacoma until the end of the seventies; KNBQ pulled ahead somewhere around 1979 or 1980. Sometime after that, KTAC started drifting in an AC direction, but now sure exactly when that started.
