Seems like a bad choice to me, but I don't think their parent company can afford a real lineup. I don't think there is a CC station in the area with local hosts at every hour of every day.

I'd be surprised if it was jockless. It takes virtually no effort to VT that format and if done right (see JJ Hemingway's method of VTing KJR) you can't tell it's not L&L. Sad, but true...

Voice tracks are usually bland and painful, but i've been fooled by hosts who are exceptionally skilled and have enough personality to bring it to life. I think its more realistic when the host records their show without going back to fix every mistake; it gives the show a more personal touch if the presentation is not perfect and robotic (if you know what I mean).

I guess its a good thing that 95.7 cannot be heard in Grays Harbour, or else there would be cause for confusion.

It still seems like a reasonable expense to hire local personalities to run the station during all primary hours, because its a proven fact that people like a personal connection to the radio and want to feel as if everything going on behind the scenes is happening just for them. Unfortunately, this is a bit of a conundrum when there are limited finances to hire such talent and pay them a reasonable salary. If the resources happen to be that tight, they would probably end up hiring/taking applications from people like me (people who could do the job per say, but do not have the experience to justify being there).

At any rate, I can see why it would be a tough situation.

Totally. When I VT I don't go back and re-do it. One shot - as if it was live - mistakes and all.

Bill - sue em for stealing your station! 105.7 The Jet has been around for way longer than this new KJR...KJET. Wonder if they'll steal your callsign from you as well. I hope not.

Voicetracking does not necessarily mean syndication. Its pretty common on radio stations with a small airstaff to voicetrack evening and late night shows. Also, thankfully, Bill should be just fine with KJET. Clear Channel would have to come up with a way to make him part with the call letters before they went to 95.7

Just like the previous times.. CC will resort to Premium Choice for talent with a couple of locals (morning show and PM Drive jocks) just like they do for NOW, BREW, KISS, and KUBE.
