Closed Captioning Failures on TBS

Several times this year, the CC content on TBS has either turned to random text characters or has completely failed. As someone with a hearing impairment, this problem affects my ability to understand their programming. Sometimes I have also noticed the captioning will pause and instead will show TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST....

What's the deal here? I never see these issues on other channels.

Paramount's DVD captions for "The Fairly OddParents" are 100 times worse than Nickelodeon's broadcast. They mishear countless lines,

Only time I've seen this was during an episode of a show like "Family Guy" that aired before live sports coverage. In the moments before the event, Turner will usually test their closed captioning software and apparently it will overwrite whatever is on the air and its own closed captions.

As I write this reply, the CC on TBS is totally out. It has been totally out for almost two days now. The TEST TEST TEST stuff I have seen happen on weeknights when no live sporting events were scheduled.

Some of the CC "mistakes" are unintentionally funny! For instance, the CC on the Weather Channel once mistakenly identified Jeanetta Jones (and I am sure that ALL the guys remember her!) as "Judge Netta Jones." I did not know that she had a law degree in addition to being a meteorologist!

This morning I watched 2 episodes of Married with Children (at 4AM and 7AM) and 1 episode of Meet The Browns, switching between TBS-SD and TBS-HD and there were no problems with the Closed Captions.

That's probably because they fixed it sometime yesterday afternoon, I just wasn't able to come back here and post that information at the time.
