Question about 102.1 Y'all FM

Been listening to 102.1 off and on for a while now, and in recent days have noticed that the format is heavily increasing a rotation of hot AC currents. Are they headed in that direction now, or is this just part of the standard Y'all FM shtick?
 
i was actually trying to tune in over the weekend and can't even find an active stream for it. Looked like the facebook page was gone too - I figured the format was toast. Is there a stream or website someone can share?

It should be on both TuneIn and iHeartRadio.
 
tried tunein...not there / no streams available. and i wondered why it would be on iheart...it's summit media, not clear channel...no?
 
SummitMedia has a deal with Clear Channel that allows all of its stations to stream on iHeartRadio. Y'All FM was up there as of 1 PM last Friday.

Other companies that have deals to stream on iHeartRadio include Cumulus, Univision, Cox, Emmis and Beasley.
 
UPDATE: I checked it a few minutes ago, and it looks like the stream is down. The stream no longer shows as available on iHeartRadio either, though the other SummitMedia stations are still there.

I've tried to talk with the CE there a few times because WEZZ has a problem with the iHeartRadio stream (it's only available on mobile devices and not on the desktop app), and I've never been able to get ahold of anyone there.
 
I'm still mystified by what they're doing on the air right now on 102.1. The sound quality of some of the songs they're playing is so bad that it almost sounds as if they downloaded them off the Web. Are they even running any commercials on there?
 
For those of you who missed Y'all being on WEZZ 97.3 FM your are in luck, well sort of.......

I spoke with Summit Media yesterday and 102.1 Y'all is now on WEZZ 97.3 HD 3 (Birmingham Mountain Radio 107.3 is still on the HD 2).

As at least some of you know 1320 WENN AM has gone silent and the 102.1 translator is now translating WEZZ 97.3 HD 3 of course still as Y'all.

This should help improve coverage at night and allow Y'all to better compete with the other translators.
 
WENN was back on the air this morning and simulcasting 102.1...or it was the last time I checked. I would imagine that 99.9% of Y'alls audience is listening on W271BN, not WENN, anyway. Most people don't have access, knowledge, or interest in HD radio, so I don't see how moving "Y'all's originating station to WEZZ HD3 is going to help a whole lot.

I'm really diggin' the format that LPFM WZAL in Alabaster has going. "APH Radio" is playing an "all hit music" format and it's working.
 
Just checked 102.1. It is now black gospel simulcasting WAGG. I'm not sure what is on WENN 1320 now since the station is on night power and I'm 30+ miles from their xmtr. I'll check tomorrow morning on 1320 and let ya know. :)
 
WENN is off the air this morning, but it has been lately, anyway, so no idea what 1320 is now doing. Btw, the station ID for 102.1 mentions WEZZ HD-3 in addition to WAGG. RDS for W271BN now reads "WAGG".
 
Y'all is gone, 102.1 is now the home to WAGG 610's gospel format. Also is hearing WAGG on 97.3 HD3 and it sounds horrible. They need to borrow some data bits from their HD1 and HD2.
 
Correction to my earlier post...well, sort of. WENN IS on the air, but there is no audio.
 
As of yesterday around 3:00 1320 was still playing the "y'all" format. I heard Hank Williams Sr among others being played. But the legal ID still announced the W271BN translator, so I am assuming the format may change eventually. Let's hope not, but we never know.
