Reception issues

Is anyone else having Sirius/XM reception issues lately? Beginning a few months ago, I cannot get a signal at night. Not just dropouts and glitches, but full-blown "no signal" as indicated on the receiver. And now I've been having issues basically 24/7. I just can't get a signal under any circumstances. Not even in a clear area with an unobstructed view to a cloudless sky with no foliage or hills in the way. Not to mention no signal during the entire 30 mile drive to work. I've tried a new, out-of-the-box antenna with the same results. There was a time I could actually get a signal in dense forest during a heavy rain! Now, not even under clear skies.

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

Are you located in, or near, a big city? I've heard that satellite radio really depends more on Terrestrial Boosters than actual reception of the satellite down-link. Maybe there's an issue with a local repeater/booster in your area.

I'm not near a big city anymore, so I'm likely relying on direct satellite reception. I do drive into Worcester, MA frequently. Being the 2nd largest city in the state I would imagine there might be a repeater nearby. But still spotty reception.

I was going to try my portable receiver today, but I couldn't find the @#$%^&* power adapter. But as luck would have it, I had the sat signal in my car again. This is driving me bats**t crazy!

Something is going on. In areas where I used to get good reception I now have areas where signal is non existent for 10-20 seconds. Sometimes it drops for half a song. Bummer.

Kind of glad I'm not the only one. But I've had enough. Old stock receiver going back in the car now and I'm cancelling my subscription. Why pay for a service you cant use? *sigh*
