WMAA-TV Channel 43 Columbus, MS

Will WMAA channel 43 in Columbus, MS ever launch? This channel was supposed to help improve Mississippi Public Broadcasting's coverage in the golden triangle area and going out toward Tuscaloosa, AL. Also Wikipedia says Mississippi Public Broadcasting has Mississippi Public Radio Audio on the .4 when they don't even have a .4 apparently.

The permit is canceled. It's dead and gone.

Given that Columbus is less than 30 miles from Starkville (Mississippi State), what good would this station have done if it had made it to the air, besides giving west Alabama an OTA PBS signal?

There's been a freeze on new TV stations for at least the last two decades, and no signs of it letting up any time soon, so I wouldn't expect to see the channel 43 allotment used anytime soon, if it even still exists (it may have been deleted during the DTV transition).
