Tailgate 98 broadcasting on 98.5 in COS. Not bad signal except far north. Playing the kitchen sink.

Heard: Eiffel 65 "Blue", Mariah Carey "Honey" and "Righteous Brothers "Rock and Roll Heaven". Promo is all Party Songs. Not bad.

Tailgate 98.5 is the FM translator for either 1040 KCBR or 1530 KCMN. Last time I checked, Tailgate was on both 1040 and 1530. The zombie-cast of the former I-25 Radio Network on 1530 has been retired.

I stand corrected. 1040 is running Tailgate 98.5, 1530 continues the zombie-cast of I-25 Radio Network, complete with outdated promos for Lee Daniels'(?) talk show on 1480 Pueblo from 11 to 1 middays. 1480 has been Spanish for the last year or more.

This begs the question: is Vic Michael a zombie?

1530 is still broadcasting classic hits, but if you listen carefully, many songs have one-sided audio and are missing either some vocals or key instruments. It is very noticeable on certain songs, somewhat faded. The same effect as having just the right VU meter going, but the left side completely out. Someone a while ago referred it to a phasing problem. I prefer listening to 690 because of this ongoing problem on 1530.

More like a recurring virus, that disappears, only to reappear at a later time, somewhere else.

Tailgate is runned by Knar who ran Citadel in springs and then Cumulus fired him. This is no amateur kids. This guy knows radio in 10 directions and probably better than anyone in southern Colorado and surely at Cumulus and I heart. He has this 98 zeroed in. I still hear some stiffs but not many, what I do hear is alot of people listening. This is going to be a fun story in the next year.
