W237AQ 95.3 in Killen is licensed to broadcast WUHT in Birmingham, but is really broadcasting WAYH in Harvest / Huntsville

W258AE 99.5 in Florence is licensed to broadcast WAYW in New Johnsonville, TN, but is really BRODCASTING WAYH in Harvest / Huntsville

In what aspect ratio are they showing it? Down here in Mobile, we get it in SD but 16x9 widescreen.

No, you are referring to TV, I am referring to FM radio. I thought you might want to update ABMP
so these translators have the correct parent station listed. Sorry if I pushed your buttons.

I hate those 16x9 SD translators. They just never look right on my radio. I think it has something to do with the language barrier.

That is SO weird! I have no idea why my TV response wound up in this thread. I was replying to a thread that was saying WeatherNation was on WAAY 31.2 in Huntsville.

I couldn't tell you for sure what screen they are broadcasting Weather Nation in, it has only been on the air 8 days now. I posted this thread after the channel popped up on my small TV, and with
a small TV it looks a little wider ( but not by much) than the main ABC WAAY 31.1 signal. I think that it is being broadcast 16x9 widescreen ( I am almost completely sure Weather Nation is SD though).

on the topic of the translators though.........

WeatherNation is in HD. On DirecTV, it's a national channel with no local inserts, obviously, but it's the same feed provided to OTA stations.

I have some more updates for you Tom and for ABMP if you want them:

1. There is a AM radio station in Alabama you don't have on the list, 1610 AM a emergency AM station for the City Of Florence. I do not know the call letters.

2. You have WVNA AM in Tuscumbia listed as silent when really they are on the air with nighttime power only 24/7 .

3.You have WLAY AM in Tuscumbia listed as on air with they are silent.

4.Weather Nation WAAY 31.2 Huntsville is now on Comcast on channel 207.

5. WQLT FM Q 107 RDS: Great Classics and the best of today [ artist/song ] Q 107

6.WXFL FM KIX 96 RDS: Today's best country and the legends [ artist/song ] KIX 96

7.W225AB 92.9 Florence RDS: CHEVROLET BUICK GMC CROSSROADS WOWL

8.W250BY 97.9 Florence RDS: FOX SPORTS SHOALS NOW! [ name of program ] WSBM

I know this is a lot but maybe it can be of help to you.

Wow that's a lot of info, but I'm working on it now and it should be updated a little later today. I'll have to do some research later on the 1610 station, see if I call pull a callsign or ownership info from the CDBS database.

I hate it that WLAY is silent, it seemed to be a pretty unique format back when it was playing only local music.

I have some more info on the 1610 station in Florence AL. They are licensed to the City Of Florence and operated by Florence police. I can't find the call letters but may try listening at the top of the hour to see if I hear an ID. It is looping NOAA Weather Radio, and Traffic updates from Florence and Sheffield. As well as things like Amber Alerts.

I listened at 2pm and at 4 pm and 1610 is not ID'ing at all. They are currently running non stop NOAA weather and not even stopping for an ID. Also, I thought I heard WHIY 1600 in the background of 1610. Aren't they supposed to ID?

By the way Tomservo, will you put recent updates to ABMP on the Google page?
