At this point, its probably worth it not to even bother.
Me thinks the KARR won't get parked.
If doable....the license as an asset is probably worth more to Family Radio in a sale than to resurrect it (see what I did there....!!!)

They can probably just make a tin can AM antenna and call it good. I mean really, there isn't much to gain by investing in a way to return. Their audience has probably switched to Spirit 105.3 for good.
I doubt Family Radio is in any position to spend money on relocating KARR. Since Harold passed away, Family has been winding-down by liquidating FM properties with any value, and their one remaining domestic Shortwave facility was sold/donated to another religious SW broadcaster in Florida. Family had no succession plan, considering Harold was sure there wouldn't be the need for one when the world was going to be wiped out.
Which then raises the question whether there's a future for KKDZ's night operations, or whether Disney would be inclined to build the array if they could find a place to put it.
Remember, the Disney stations are for sale.

As already mentioned, since Radio Disney is moving away from the broadcast transmission business remaining with streaming and satellite, I also doubt they would be interested in spending money on a new night site. That and as I remember, their pattern limitations at night are pretty tight, especially to the east and north. They're probably better off running under the current reduced power STA, than even what they were doing with 5kW-D from Kirkland. Either way, you can't hear them at night. Plus, that switching sites twice a day was a PITA. Whoever would be foolish, er.. I mean bold enough to buy 1250, would be saddled potentially figuring out a new night location.
It's hard to hear KKDZ in the evenings, but overnight it comes in like a local. I can hear KNEU-1250 Roosevelt, UT frequently with 129 watts. KWSU also shows up.
I have a local in Yakima on 1460 (KUTI) but KARR was hardly audible up in Marysville at night. Yakima dominated.
The AM clone of Spirit 105.3 (well, the teaching part of it) is KCIS 630.

Have said it before and stand by the assertion that best outcome for 1250 is a Western WA version of KWSU. Then they don't have to worry about protecting to East....and depending on what they program on that thing, there is probably an audience in SEA for some of the things "cougar" from their alum college. Would be different if there was a line to buy the thing....but I don't think there will be one.
What does KWSU have that we don't already have west of the mountains? It seems like too much public radio could be an overload, too.
I've thought of that too. But I'm not too sure KUOW would be thrilled with it.
What could KUOW do about it in that scenario? Complain to NPR about it? Possibly. But that would open up a brand new can of worms from other stations in the same markets as established NPR stations wanting to air some NPR programs. And that would eat into listener donations. And NPR talk here is divided between KUOW and KPLU by mutual agreement. A third party like WSU might not sit well with them. But namely KUOW.
WSU did something similar with an LMA on KVTI 90.9 in Lakewood. WSU essentially rents airtime from the licensee Clover Park Vo Tech, and plays their KWSU programming, plus some local inserts from time to time. I would hope WSU would be savvy enough to NOT even consider purchasing a partially crippled AM station to carry their programming in Seattle. Not a good investment.
I think Eric, you should purchase 1250 from Disney and put your traffic channel on it. The I-5 corridor through downtown would hear it, but that's about it. ;>)

I still prefer the 1540 scenario I originally wanted so it would be KARR 154 .... VERY OLD reference!!!!!
An all-traffic radio station would do extremely well here in Seattle. I know there are plenty of nay-sayers, but what else would go on 1250 besides more syndicated talk, a religious broadcaster, etc?
