98.9 NASH Icon all-Christmas

98.9 NASH Icon has gone all-Christmas. Mostly country Christmas songs/country versions of standards, with a few noncountry standards (e.g., Bing) thrown in. Still using the NASH Icon branding.

Is this happening for all of the NASH Icon stations? If Cumulus's goal for NASH Icon is to make it the AC of country, this seems to be a smart move.

Please see my thread started before Thanksgiving on this topic. I predicted NASH-icon would be the oe to do it.

I think they sound pretty good.

They did that because they had sold all-Christmas on 97.9 to some advertisers. When 97.9 went Classic Hip-Hop, Cumulus didn't want to lose the advertisers (or their money).

Our Nash Icon station in Nashville is playing the normal playlist, probably with Christmas sprinkled in. Not sure as I don't keep up with my local stations, but when I just checked them out they were playing Brad Paisley's "We danced."
