TV anchors with "feelings...nothing more than feelings"

Is anyone else annoyed by the way regional television anchors are now obliged to share their feelings about a story?

You're just noticing this? This has been happening for decades. Or is there something specific you're seeing that's different now? (Please describe)
 
There's an anchor in the San Francisco market who was infamous for making a comment after (seemingly) every sad, tragic, or violent story. Usually in response to the live report, she'd shake her head, make a sad face, and say something like; "That's truly tragic, Bob. That family will be in my prayers tonight."

I've noticed that it has stopped, so I have a feeling that she got a new News Director who told her to knock it the f*#k off.
