Most wanted/closest needed logged! New Year's Eve 2014

I started my NYE festivities by logging my closest unheard AM station!

1300 - KACI The Dalles, OR; weak with Rush Limbaugh (sub host), several The Dalles ads and news/weather updates, between 0929-0935 PT. Most wanted and closest needed station. NEW #675, 1KW, 73.5 miles. This station was on a longwire antenna for a long time but may have gotten a new antenna. KKOL and KLER used to mix weakly on 1300 during the day.

This means I only have 3 Oregon stations left to clear the state! KURY-910 Brookings, 820 KWDP Waldport and 1230 KHSN Coos Bay.

Another new one, just before the start of 2015...

1050 - XEG Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon; poor-fair mixing with XED Mexicali and KTCT San Jose with Regional Mexican music // stream, and a weak "Ranchera" ID under Mexicali at 2143 PT 12/31. NEW #676, 100KW, 1827 miles! NEW Mexican state as well! Very happy with this one at the start of the new year.

600 Radio Rebelde (CMKA) from Cuba with New Year's Eve party at 2330 PT / KCOL CO with "Fox News Talk 600" ID

First log of 2015 was a nice one - relog 570 WNAX Yankton, SD w/ "570 WNAX Weather" mention at 0158 PT 1/1/15.

I remember XEG in the late 60's. They were a border blaster - and played a silly preacher who claimed to raise somebody from dead live on radio! We never laughed so hard.

XEG was a regular in the Chicago area back in its border blaster days. Similar programming to XERF, complete with Wolfman Jack...although XERF had a better signal.

Anyway, congrats to Crain on snagging another one from his wish list, along with several other impressive catches.
