Ferguson happens, and KFTK ratings go down?

With WHHL performing so strong... and Emmis' expertise with another 97.1... this market could really get shaken up.

Urban will never happen on an Emmis St Louis stick under John Beck's watch. If they were going to do it, they could have kept 104.1 instead of selling it off to Radio One. Under any other owner, 97.1 would have had the plug pulled out from it long ago, but I think Beck is pretty bent on keeping the partisan politics on the station despite lousy ratings. Before Emmis bought that station, it had ratings success as The Rock, which they gleefully shut down for the talk format, and killed a storied set of call letters in StL (KXOK). Any other owner would have flipped 97.1 years ago.

After another recent bad book for 104.9, I'd expect a new format there; or if they are bent on keeping a flanker for Z, why not flip flop 103.7 and 104.9 and give Louie a full signal?

Majic 100.3 was a trainwreck, but 104.9 should have been the station to flip to classic hip-hop. Half of WiLD's playlist seems carbon copied from Z (and not even particularly rhythmic stuff!); the other half of the playlist sounds identical to 100.3 The Beat. Forget even adding value to the local radio dial; WiLD is barely adding value to its own cluster!

Louie 104.9 sounds like the next logical step in the musical chairs of 100.3 and 104.9. Another option... given KLJY's strong showing, could 104.9 go back to its roots? With KLJY leaning current, and the Boost trimulcast leaning young, how about a classic-leaning CCM outlet?
