Hello, is there anybody in there?

Well, the reorganization reached us, and we are now in our new location. I have to say that it seems clunkier than the old way the forum was organized, but I'm not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. The real question was posed by Pink Floyd. Just nod if you can hear me.

Floyd the barber said the new format doesn't work as good as the old and older and oldest formats. But it's free, so what does it matter.

Eddie Floyd isn't impressed with the new format, either.

Thanks for your message... How does it not work as good? Do you find the site less functional?

Maybe these features will help: You can easily find all the "Other Local Markets" under their respective States here. You can bookmark the page (the links to the Other Local Markets at the bottom of the category will eventually be removed. they are there now as a convenience). A new member that may want to discuss Modesto would not have known to find the market discussion under >>Other Local Markets >> Central California. Now, Central California is under California. So Modesto is much easier to find. Same for many New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Ohio markets..

This software features the New Posts and What's New which you can find links to in the upper left corner. These help you find the newest content, threads and reply posts easily. Under the Quick Links button you will find a link to "Today's Posts" and "Subscribed Threads" so you can easily keep up with what interests you on the forums.

I would think these features outweigh having an "Other Local Markets" category that looks out of place and makes it difficult for new visitors to the site to find the content they seek in a logical fashion.

But we do appreciate your comments and concerns. We want to make the site as user-friendly as possible for the most people. Feel free to offer your suggestions under the Ask Radio Discussions or Policy Discussions forums..

Perhaps if "Radio in the United States" was a top-level forum it would seem less clunky. If you simply bookmark the NY forum, you miss all the other features that you talk about. If you go to "forums", it's a bit arcane finding the state-then-local forums. It might even help to rename it "US Radio by State" to separate it from the "National Radio" forum.

There would be well over 300 forums on the front page.

The "new Posts" and "What's New" features remain at the top of the forum.

When you say "If you go to "forums",..." what do you mean? Where are your clicking to go to "forums" and what page does that take you to, because there is not a button named "forums".

I can rename it US Radio by State, that does sound more accurate and descriptive. Thanks!

All I'm saying is move "US Radio by State" up a level, so it's on the same level as "Top 20 US Radio Markets". It would add one forum to the front page.

Good suggestions and responses. Yes, move it up to the level of "Top 20." I'd suggest naming it "US Radio By State & Market" to add further/complete definition.

It will add over 200 forums. There are the 50 states, plus 200 markets (some still to be added). I won't be moving the US Radio State by State to the top level. Sorry.

The real issue I see here is since the shutdown a while back, everyone got into new habits and stopped posting here. There just isn't as much content on either the WNY or the Boston boards (like maybe 95% less than before?) which are the two I look at most - so I don't look here as often as I used to. Too bad - I credit the forum owner for realizing the misguided move in shutting this place down and eventually bringing it back, but it drove a lot of people away who may/may not eventually come back (probably not since the forum has been back up for quite a while now).

I think there's some good points in the above post...and you also have to look at how little actually happens around here too. The K&B thing was the last big shoe drop in the area IMO and that's gone completely quiet since they've debuted on Radio 95.1. The Syracuse/Utica board on the old site was also simmering along well till the change, and without some of the previous cast of characters, it's turned into a dusty old ghost town as well. Shame, really.
