1160 AM Spanish

Anybody have an idea what the Spanish language station is that competes with KSL? The two signals fade in and out, back and forth.

Daytime or night? What location?

In most places, it would likely be a station from Cuba.

There are also three domestic stations in Spanish with low night power. All depends on where you are.

I'm in Las Vegas, and I hear the interference from near sunset (the "critical hours") on and off through the night. KSL is usually rock solid at night, but if it fades out the other station always takes over.

The closest US station on 1160 is Texas, and it is a Spanish language religious station in San Antonio.

There are several fulltime stations in Mexico on 1160. The highest powered is in Baja California Sur with 10 kw, but supposedly signs off at 7 PM every day... and it is not in Spanish but in one of four indigenous languages. But there are three or four others that may not be observing nigh power reductions.
