Q105 - New Positioning / Imaging

Noticed today that Q105 has a new imaging voice and is now identifying itself as "Tampa Bay's hits of the 70's, 80's, and more". I wouldn't expect that from a station that some expect to move to 98.7. I'm still of the belief that Q105 stays right where it is at 104.7.

I'm with you. I don't think they will blow up Q105 for Bubba. I don't think they will blow up QYK either. Today I noticed Bubba tweeted a picture of his car stereo tuned to 94.1, with the caption "I always been a big fan of wild 94.1. But could (sic) say it. Now I can." I can't help but wonder if this isn't a subliminal hint that they're going to flip 98.7 and 94.1 ... time will tell.

I imagine that is exactly what will happen. Wild pulls similar ratings on 94.1 as they did on 98.7 in the past, and they could market it as returning to their roots or some such.

And by the by, I tuned in 98.7 last night for about two hours on and off while making deliveries by the casino, and it was all underground hip-hop... exactly what Wild did years ago when they first came out....

Love the newer sound BTW, playing Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence" as we speak. A couple of minutes prior they played "Whats on Your Mind" by Information Society. Just a good mix of 70's and 80's Pop, Rock and New Wave. What the old "Point" should have sounded if Cox put any effort into it, instead of letting it wither on the vine. The music, personality and everything is just right at Q105.

With the re-imaging, a Q105 flip seems less likely. (Why would Beasley bother if they are going to blow it up anyway?)

I also love this station now. They are now playing great music. I wish my local station in philly WOGL FM would play the same music Q105 plays. I listen to this station on the web and on my phone in the car. I have given up on WOGL. I hope they do not blow this station up. This station is sounding more and more like Sunny 105.9 in Orlando. And yes, the personalities are also great with this station. A perfect mix of personalities and great music.
