KUBU | Antenna Change

I work in the vicinity of Capital Mall in Downtown Sacramento. KUBU-LP comes in like gangbusters in my car when it is parked in the garage of the office building I work in. As I head home east on Highway 50, KUBU has a crystal clear signal until about Watt Avenue. East of Watt Avenue, the signal becomes choppy. By Bradshaw Road, the signal becomes virtually unrecognizable. By Mather Field Road, the signal alternates between KUBU-FM and the 96.5 stations from Reno and San Francisco.
 
I have always found jampro antennas to be quite capable units. only second to ERI. Considering KUBU is co channel with 96.5 in the bay area it will always be an uphill battle to get fringe coverage. 97.5 enjoys lack of local co channel and thus the main reason for there large fringe coverage.
 
In my room I got KUBU with my Grundig, Nothing on my walkman

I have picked up KUBU also in Southport Center on Jefferson on my Kaito KA321, But on on my Sony Walkman
 
Update:

I can pick up KUBU in my room on my Grundig YB 400PE with my antanna up

On my Sony Walkman comes in a little -- So I think they have the antanna up & running good

Good to hear.

I don't think you'll ever see "excellent" coverage given it's co channel but it's nice to hear it's helped.

I bet when SF Stations in the Summer start to come in blasting like a local,KUBU going to get crunched by KOIT

Like when my Walkman gets SF Stations without static

Got a chance to work with Access Sacramento yesterday, they have a nice little setup.

I also got a chance to listen to KUBU. The new antenna has helped a lot however it's still never going to be a "good" signal. Nothing more can be done, it is what it is. You make a good point about the thermal inversion layer. I suspect there may be times when KOIT squashes them.

Really not sure that would've made an difference.

They also have KALF to compete with too. Albeit, further away than KGMZ. Sacramento has a VERY crowded FM band. :)
