93.9 WLCL sold to Union Broadcasting

Wait, wasn't there originally an agreement for them to carry CBS programming that was posted online?

I can't find it now but in the sales agreement Union stated that they signed a 4 year deal with CBS Sports Radio and that because of local programming it wouldn't interfere with the CBS Sports Radio shows carried on WXVW 1450 (in the agreement they called them WQKC 1450) Maybe the agreement is really about the Westwood One programming they air? Isn't CBS Sports Radio and Westwood One both connected to Cumulus?

I found this on the ESPN 680 Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/1229804377...0.1422330261./779061385480226/?type=1&theater

I thought for sure that they would go with new call letters for the flip, but they're still WLCL. WVLL would be great call letters and it doesn't look like they're being used anywhere. Though really, does anybody even pay attention to call letters anymore?

It looks like the transfer of ownership to Union Broadcasting was finally finished though, which is great, because that means we're officially a 100% Cumulus free city and won't have to go through the business of 93.9 going silent for a year again in about three years.

I tried it out, lasted about 1min. Signal was very clear, but the sound was extremely low. I turned it way up to check it out. My phone rang through (my Bluetooth call volume is based on the radio sound) and it about blew a window. Wow.

I heard them that way Sunday night just prior to kickoff of the Superbowl. Both 105.7 and 93.9 had terribly low audio. 680 was carrying the same thing at normal level.

It sounded like somebody didn't have something potted up correctly and there was nobody monitoring it to notice or to care. I don't think they have anyone taking care of their engineering there. Or at least that's what it often sounds like.

engineering

They have a good engineering guy but he is based in Kansas City I think...have to share him with parent company?

I noticed that the audio during the Superbowl play by play was very low too but during commercials the volume was much louder. The same thing the other night when an NBA game was on.
Today I noticed that the volume is louder now.Maybe someone from the station reads this board?
I wonder why they are broadcasting in stereo. And I don't understand why most of their local shows are still on 680 / 105.7.They have a great signal on 93.9 and you would think that more people would listen if those shows were on 93.9.
