Holy cow, this is some good news for B92.5. They're on the rise (albeit only one book) and actually competing with KNTY 101.9.
 
KHYL saw a nice bump with their new "throwback R&B and Hip Hop" format.

It will be interesting to watch and see if people get tired of the new format or whether it grows more.
 
What's interesting to me is the popularity of genres. In Sacramento, about 9% listen to country (between 3 stations) while about twice that listen to rock (active, classic, or alternative). A whopping 31% listen to some kind of "hit radio" with about 10% of that listening to rhythmic-based music, and about 13% for news/talk. Just down the road, in market #5, country music garners a 0.8 share (although, to be fair, KRTY probably doesn't buy Nielsen and therefore aren't listed). Quite a difference.

KRTY averages around a 1.2 in the San Francisco book.
