Daytime Emmy Awards Returning to TV on Pop

Show was streamed online last year, on HLN the year prior

Pop, formerly TV Guide Network, is set to air the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Sunday, Apr. 26 at 8 p.m. ET. The show will be executive produced by Michael Levitt.

The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast during the 2014 calendar year.

Who's gonna wanna be interested in watching such a show if it's on a channel that's (Likely) only available via such devices like the Roku or Chromecast ??

I'm sorry BUT until such serials become more and more mainstream in the ONLINE world, I think the Academy should either KEEP streaming the show online only OR SHELVE the ceremony completely for a few years

JMO though.....

Thoughts ??

Cheers & 73 :)

Pop's programming should still be available on many cable TV and satellite TV channels (Pop used to be called the TV Guide Network until this past January. Many cable TV and satellite TV channels had its programming by then).

The Daytime Emmys used to be on CBS and maybe ABC as well. Why not bring them back to a major network? It's just one Friday evening lost...there are not that many TV viewers on that night. Shark Tank and Undercover Boss may have very modest ratings, but the rest of the shows are probably poor.

I forgot to watch last year, if in fact it was accessible for free.

The first year it was on HLN, I happened to be staying in a motel in the mountains. The second year the people I went to the mountains with had a death in the family and we had to leave before the show aired.

You can't "bring them back" because the networks don't want them. Rest assured if they anted to give up a Friday evening...or the middle of the night...they'd be on broadcast.

Wikipedia:
As of August 2013 (when the channel was still known as TV Guide Network), Pop is available to approximately 77,294,000 pay television households (67.68% of households with at least one television set) in the United States.

I wasnt aware there were 78M Roku units in use.

CBS re-airs its two soaps on Pop!

Some Time Warner systems have removed WGN America. I got a notice they were changing its name.

So I'm hoping I still have Pop when the awards show airs. I don't watch it because when I don't want listings, they're annoying. And yet I keep reading here they want to drop those.
