I've known about it a few days but have kept mum other than a few hints.Now @bostonradio is tweeting about it.Mar 2? No Mar 16 Howie will be back on WRKO..and word coming of a poss. sale of 1510?

No problem.It was tough keeping mum but I threw hints along the lines of "well maybe it will happen".I too have said in past there was a lot of bad blood but I try to never rule things out, and they needed each other. I don't know the affiliate fee but RKO doesn't to shell out 300 large.Howie has control and a 4.5 mile commute.No more Entercom Happens talk. They aren't his boss. He is.

Now again there is the 1510 sale rumor.
Siegel does RKO the rest of the wk and 1510 replaces Howie with...live Hannity?Alex Jones?Severin from Blaze Radio if he's still there..oh wait,more Bos Herald Radio?

However, I still believe that whatever contract Howie's syndicator concludes with Entercom will contain a non-disparagement clause...and with WCRN on his western flank, the WRKO nighttime signal issue is now moot.

I think the non-disparagement clause will be in the form of "station and talent may terminate this contract at any time".

That would be enough to keep Howie in the lanes....the thought of having to go back to 1510AM (who probably wouldn't have him a second time!)

In a like vein, you probably missed my newer March 5 posting which outlined exactly what happened.

.......Howie soon realizes, if he hasn't already, that his current syndication situation is in reality a perpetual vow of poverty.

.......In a face-saving cover story for Howie, Howie's network announces they have cut an agreement with Entercom making WRKO a "major affiliate" or somesuch hokum, but a deal in essense making Howie a WRKO employee, only for a lot less money. Howie keeps the 'coffee-pots in the boonies' revenue to pay his gym fees and network avails for cutting trade deals for a SUV or a yearly cruise to the Carribean..........

As they say, RadioInfo happens.

It says w/o Howie RKO 19th among adults, 23rd overall. RKO btw keeping some sponsors away from Howie.
Weather's fine in Fla. for Howie right now.

I could never get this number out of my head; the new one sucked, and I was having trouble remembering it. Now, it doesn't matter at all.

Looking at the picture of Howie in Florida I can understand why he had the stomach restriction operation last month. He looks more like a late stage Orson Welles in that picture than Howard L. Carr. But nice hair. Guess one thing at a time. Not healthy carrying that weight.What happened ? Howie was never THAT heavy.

Someone on Free Republic claims Nancy "Sandy" Shack is Jerry Williams' daughter. They're out there. I replied no, I think she grew up in Virginia and served as producer for Dick Syatt, then Jerry and her nickname came from Jerry's girlfriend Sandy Nagro. I think Jerry's daughters are Eve, Andrea and Susan. Pic of family circa 68 is at jerrywilliams.org

BIZ-R to think that Nancy Shack is Jerry Williams daughter. That nom deplume started as part of Howie Carr's effort to destroy Jerry Williams reputation. In column after column in his trash newspaper or using the Herald's old gossip whore reporters he and they would drop innuendos about Williams alleged partners....or his Cuban heals. Carr did all this while carrying on an affair with Janet Jaghelian's secretary. She later became the "mailroom manager". Another example of Carr's hypocracy, the return to WRKO just being the latest.

Howie's not physically returning to WRKO. They're just picking up his show from the syndicator. The old toll-free number was the one he had when he originated his program at WRKO, and he probably won't get that back.
