WJMN 94.5 Not Broadcasting HD

WJMN 94.5 is not broadcasting in HD which is affecting the HD traffic app which is a part of most cars. Traffic in the Boston area does not show on the display.

I like some of the local HD subchannels, especially "WBCN Free Form Rock", "Radio Mojo", and the WODS oldies/classic hits music. I'd be bummed if they went away.

I would be bummed as well. However, I don't think Hybrid Digital Radio is going away. The Multichannels are a great way for radio to remain relevant.
If the main, HD1 signal doesn't cover a targeted audience, or a co-owned AM night pattern limits it's reach, they can use a multichannel for the affected station.
The most exciting features of course are the great formats as you mentioned, Eli on the Multichannels .

Also, my 86 year old mom listens to HD radio all the time to hear classical music on WCRB clearly via 89.7 WGBH HD2. The original signal for WCRB 99.5 does not come in well where she lives.

Whenever I've mentioned this, people always say, "Why doesn't she just stream it online?" or "Why doesn't she just get the app for her phone?" or "Why doesn't she just subscribe to the Sirius/XM classical service?"

Because, at her age, she has been used to listening to WCRB on the FREE LOCAL TERRESTRIAL RADIO for 60 years, and that's the way she wants to continue to listen to it, even if HD radio from 89.7 on Blue Hill is necessary for a clear signal in her location since WCRB was moved from 102.5 transmitting from Needham to the 99.5 Lowell licensed frequency.
