I'm going to start off by saying that I'm a male who has each ear pierced. I wear them most of the time. The only time I couldn't wear them recently was during the 3 1/2 months I was employed by Hobby Lobby. (I also don't wear them when I go to job interviews).
I know this is a minor thing, but I know of at least three occurrences where on a TV show where a male character is show to have an earring at first and then doesn't later on.
REBA:
In the first episode when we first see Cheyenne's boyfriend Van he has an earring in one of his ears. He gives it to Cheyenne because he can't afford an engagement ring. He is never seen wearing an earring again.
Mike & Molly:
In the first episode after Mike & Molly have met at the OA Meeting, Carl is off duty and comes looking for Mike. He is seen with an earring in each ear. Again after this episode he is never seen wearing earrings again.
Night of the Twisters (Family Channel Movie):
In the first few scenes of the movie Devon Sawa's character has an earring. And in the rest of the movie he doesn't.
