Is KIEV's Rick Ward Dead?

Not too long ago I had posted Rick had served time in Prison for marketing his Oldies collection and not securing the proper rights and he wrote me here as that was news to him. I felt terrible but I see on Don's site he is celebrating his Birthday in Death? When did he die?

I can't find a single thing online about Rick dying. Even Don's "Where Are They Now" has him alive and living in the South. Might be worth e-mailing Don directly and asking if he knows something we don't or if it was simply an error.

I did, what a great guy Don is. I think Rick is gone as I just found this.

Is the CdDooWop site still active? It includes a link to "Buy this domain." On the Rock-It Radio site, Rick Ward is listed under "past DJs." He retired in 2011 and (I presume) is still alive. I never knew until today that Ward produced Alan Freed's short-lived program on KDAY in 1960. Golly gee!

Pretty sure I just found the exact reason Ward was put behind bars from Billboard Magazine (August 24, 1974), assuming this is the same Rick Ward from Los Angeles who produced bogus Record collections (which was his only commercial on his brokered KIEV Oldies show), similar to Art Laboe's legit "Oldies but Goodies" collection. Story found on General News Page 1 column 4 and Page 6, column 4, "Taxe named In 2 Suits", "Taxe 3 others land Jail sentences":
