KYLE Bryan to become MyNetworkTV affiliate

On July 1, 2015, Nexstar’s KYLE will launch as the MyNetworkTV affiliate serving the Waco-Temple-Bryan, TX market (DMA 87). KYLE will be operated in conjunction with Nexstar’s KWKT, the FOX affiliate in Waco. Previously, there was no stand-alone MyNetworkTV affiliate serving the market and KYLE and KWKT shared MyNetworkTV and FOX affiliations.

This would leave the Brazos Valley without over-the-air access to FOX. And KYLE wouldn't be picked up OTA in Waco. Here's how I'd do things:

KYLE - Contour Map: http://www.rabbitears.info/contour.php?appid=1316617&map=Y
28.1 MNT (720p HD)
28.2 FOX // KWKT (720p HD)
28.3 Estrella TV (480i SD)

KWKT - Contour Map: http://www.rabbitears.info/contour.php?appid=1382140&map=Y
44.1 FOX (720p HD)
44.2 MNT // KYLE (720p HD)
44.3 Estrella TV (480i SD)

Odd that there would be no OTA Fox station in B/CS, especially considering the network runs most of the Cowboys games, plus lots of other NFL. I suspect Fox will resurface elsewhere.

Hey, hey, hey! Aggieland is Texans Country! Lol...

In all seriousness, I'd expect a duopoly along the lines of KBTX/KWTX and KCEN/KAGS to emerge soon. May even end up as a 3rd subchannel to KBTX, joining CBS & The CW. Seems as though more and more of Bryan/College Station's TV is being controlled out of Waco lately.

I suspect what will happen is that KYLE will be made available on cable/satellite across the entire Waco/Bryan-College Station market as the My Network TV affiliate and KWKT will be made available in the entire market on cable/satellite as the Fox affiliate. I also suspect you will see KWKT on a KYLE subchannel and vice-versa with KYLE on KWKT - pretty much exactly like suggested above.

God I hope the other stations don't do the same just thinking if KBTX joins the CW on the main channel, KAGS joins Me-TV on the main channel, and Telemundo on KRHD. Yeah, I'd hate to see Bryan-College Station losing all big-four affiliates for lesser known networks.
