I think we're seeing the answer to that question now. What we don't know is how Rush will respond. How important is the platform to him? Even a declining platform. Because the money probably doesn't matter, except for the ego. But there are other ways to feed the ego.
As I said, things are evolving...slowly. Radio stations are considering their options. A national talent like Rush is worth the money to a station if they can make even more with it. If they can't, then they go local, or carry someone with straight barter. It's interesting because there's a big movement among owners for more localized programming. You're not seeing a lot of new national talk shows any more. There's no reason.
