Johnson and Johnson O-U-T at KMPS

The name of the show changed to "The Tommy and Joe Show" a few weeks ago. I thought they might be trying to put a little fresh air into the show, but not so.

Admittedly as someone who doesn't really follow country radio, why does longtime leader KMPS fallen behind other country stations in the market?

The answer is no different than the reasons why the Accord and the Camry outsell the Chevy and Ford brands in their segment. Not that KMPS was bad, just that the competitors were perceived as being better.

Usually those perceptions are changed via music, mornings and marketing.

Hey look...another job for ford to apply for! Maybe KMPS will follow KUBE and Movin's lead by hiring someone with no experience...

Haha okay, Rob, fair enough. At least I am working hard to become a better on-air personality outside of the Seattle market, though. Doing something improve one's position in the business of radio for the future is a lot better than doing nothing at all.

I found it to be sort of a 'radio first' that the station fires them, but continues to play "best ofs" and even produced liners between songs saying that you are listening to the now fired show.

Seattle is definitely not Salt Lake City. Who would've thought that J&J would work here? SLC is quite religious (Mormon), while Seattle is the polar opposite...tree and earth worshipers.
