93.5 and 97.7 Dead Again?

I noticed today that both translators are active but are playing nothing. What is up with these stations? They are always having problems staying on air.

Both stations are dead again. The transmitters are active but nothing is playing. Lots of issues here. I also noticed Radio 105.7 was off air most of the afternoon and now that it's back on, the signal is awful. I assume they are using a backup facility.

I did a quick check of the FCC web site:

It looks like do have an aux transmitter. if i am reading it correctly, WRDA uses the same tower for their AUX transmitter. They have the same power, and type of antenna only 11 meters (around 35 feet) lower. Sometimes in some locations 20 or 40 feet antenna height can make a big difference. I assume they have a back up generator, so for them to be totally off the air something in common with both audio chains must have failed. One would think that CC / IHeart would have separate or back up STL's

Any idea on if they're going to get a translator with better coverage? I was able to pick up 97.7 from my former work parking lot out in Stone Mountain but it got worse heading west. Downtown it's terrible and where i live, SOTP, there's a battle royale with another station on the same freq.

Just curious if they're going to keep it north side or what.

From what I gather from OSOTR facebook page - Having this station on the FM dial is not a priority of any sorts. It's basically an experiment or a place holder for a translator signal up in G'ville.
