I wrote this all by my lil' self for a radio fanzine. I did not plagiarize it. Well.......not much of it anyway.

Longtime KLIF/KRLD newsman Bob Morrison died June 21 at age 65. Morrison had been in poor health since suffering two falls and having to undergo two surgeries on his back and one surgery to repair a broken leg. In 1967, while working on a degree in broadcast journalism at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Morrison got a job at KLIF answering phones and driving throughout Dallas in the Headliner Cruiser, a $35,000 newsvan which broadcast news headlines and station promos. Within two years, Morrison had worked his way up to news anchor. He also did news for WFAA. He worked in Los Angeles as news director of KHJ from 1974 to 1976 and KIIS in 1978-79, then spent four years as a reporter for ABC Radio and two years as a news anchor for RKO and Unistar. He returned to Dallas and spent 15 years at KVIL, where he was honored in four different years by United Press International for "best major market newscast in Texas." Morrison also was a reporter at KNUS, a weekend news anchor at KRLD, news director at KLTY and news/sports director for the USA Radio Network. For nine years, he was news director of Christian station KCBI and an adjunct professor at Criswell College, co-owner of KCBI. The call letters represent the college's former name, Criswell Bible Institute. In the 2000s, Morrison worked as a news anchor for KLIF, Citadel Broadcasting and Metro Networks. For one year, he produced SitRep, a syndicated radio program for members of the military and their families. Morrison most recently served as news director of the Internet-only Leading Edge Radio Network and for several years hosted a Christian program on the Bible Study Media website. Morrison was elected to the Texas Radio Of Fame in 2008.

I loved Bob Morrison's work. And I'm stunned to find that he was only 26 when he was at KHJ.

I've been wracking my brain---and you all know I'm not the brain-wracker I used to be---trying to recall all the newsmen who worked at KHJ in the 1960s. So far, I've come up with Andy West, Art Kevin, Bill Barnard, Lyle Kilgore, Marv Howard, J. Paul Huddleston and sportscaster Danny Baxter.
