I have left 104.9. I wasn't fired. I left on my own, and everyone was very supportive. Thanks to everyone at 104.9 & everyone who listened!!

Going to hang out with @thatsean on the Adam's Theory today on @AM1300TheZone 2-4 pm CT. Check it out.

Missed The Adam theory today, what did Chip say?

With the Horn broadcasting Longhorn Sports, I expect Craig Way to end up over at the Horn.

If one gets laid off, is that the same as getting fired?

Aww, but it's now iHeartMedia.

That is correct. His wording did confuse me. My first thought, immediately after he said it, was that he was using the lower case letters to mean a “clear-channel” station.

Wikipedia definition of clear-channel:

A clear-channel station is an AM band radio station in North America that has the highest protection from interference from other stations, particularly concerning night-time skywave propagation. The system exists to ensure the existence of cross-country or cross-continent radio service, and is enforced through a series of treaties and statutory laws. Usually known as class A stations since 1982, they are occasionally still referred to by their former classifications of class I-A, class I-B, or class I-N. The term "clear channel" is used most often in the context of North America and the Caribbean, where the concept originated.

Since Austin does not have a “clear-channel” station, I assumed that he meant “Clear Channel Communications” which is now iHeartMedia.

I assume that Chip is going to “1300 The Zone” since it is a sports station and is owned by iHeartMedia. And, he was a guest on that station yesterday.

Chip Brown “sat in” with Sean Adams during “The Adams Theory” on “1300 The Zone” again today (07/08/2015). I think he was only there for the first hour of the show.

I did not hear one mention on the program about Chip changing stations or having a new job, which is just like yesterday, no mention at all.

Everything I have heard on the radio and read on the Internet points to Chip Brown voluntarily leaving “109.4 The Horn” for “1300 The Zone”.

Hmmmm, why leave the station that's about to pick up the Longhorn broadcasts and move to a sports station that weaker for it...........Hmmmm.

Erin Hogan on “104.9 The Horn” said that Chip left for a better contract or a better offer (I don't remember Erin's exact words).

He also said if they had fired him or had anything to do with him leaving, they sure would not have let him go while his co-host was on vacation (which is the case since Chad is currently on vacation).

Alex Loeb said they did not fire him because it would make good story for them to talk about but there is no story because Chip left on his own.

Chip is on Sean Adams show “The Adams Theory” again (right now) for the third day in a row.

My guess, and it is only a guess since I don't have any more information than you do, is that KVET needed more on-air personalities to draw more listeners to make up for losing the University of Texas sports contract.

I agree about the reason KVET hired him. Still think Craig Way makes the switch soon since College Football is about to start.

Chip Brown will be on Sean Adams show “The Adams Theory” today (Friday) at 2:30 PM.

I'm sure Craig Way will eventually make his way over to 104.9 The Horn because of the UT sports contract.
I think the expiration date of his current contract might depend on when that happens (if big money is involved if he breaks the contract).
