CBS wishing they hadn't put Amp on 103.3 as WODS could probably be #1 right now in Boston
ehhhhhh probably not, and here is why
first off the 6+ numbers are as someone once said are "beauty queen numbers" we don't know what WROR is pulling in their P1 vs competitors.
WROR got some, if not most of their gain by getting the listeners that CBS left stranded. Some of those listeners migrated up the dial to 105.7 and got added into WROR's cume. Some probably ended up down the dial listening to WZLX, or depending on where they are in the market WBOQ, WFNX, or other stations
now back to discounting the 6+, I'd love to see real numbers for WODS vs WRKO, because if I were CBS I would be wondering how a washed up AM with mostly crap programming beat them in the 6+? Chances are in the age groups that count (18-34) WODS is kicking WRKO's mic , WRKO's P1 is 55 to death, and that brings you advertisers hawking colon cleanser at not a lot of money per spot.
It will be interesting to see in the September book where WRKO ends up with their new line up and after Rush has been gone a while...
same thing with WROR with Julie D now (hopefully) live in mid days and the new PM drive guy in place.
Has anyone noticed the loss of Tom Doyle has not hurt their ratings?
