KLMO 98.9 Dilley/San Antonio

This station's had more than it's fair share of problems... Off the air for a huge part of last year, dead air a 4th of the time since it came back, and this loud buzzing in the background as if a transformer was too close to the audio supply or something. Not to mention the low quality feed they use.
I would think that Spanish Christian probably wouldn't be the most profitable format to run in this situation. Seems they're pressed for cash judging by how the station sounds on the air. I suggest they flip, or sell it to someone who can use it better.

I was under the impression KLMO was just cashing checks from Bernal. If that's the case and if the checks keep coming in and clearing, it's very profitable. The problems could be on either end to at least some extent. I've heard of several Bernal stations having the same or very similar problems.

You're probably right. Let's hope the best comes out of this for Burnal's group and all parties involved.

The station's transmitter's been having problems for about a month or so. The signal keeps cutting out and coming back. The cut-outs only last for a fraction of a second, but this happens on average once every two or three seconds I would say.

And what's up with the lack of legal ID's? This is such a simple problem to fix, yet I haven't heard an ID since last year. Come on guys LOL.

The problems are still noticeable. The signal fluctuates more often, constantly. Audio is still only on the left channel.
Here is what it sounds like. http://sndup.net/7fbj/d
I've never heard a transmitter do that before.

I thought it was sick... Just hope they check on it or have safety on to prevent disaster. That is a 92kW station so it would suck if crap hit the fan, and they had to replace the equipment. But then again that transmitter sounds like it's on it's last leg anyways.
Interesting to note that these are the same folks who own the two SA translators 93.3 and 105.7, operated by iHeartMedia. Maybe iHeart can do something about 98.9, but they're not the lessee. Just throwing around ideas.

98.9 has been dead air all day yesterday, only broadcasting quiet 60 Hz humming noises. The transmitter is still humming to itself as of now. It's actually doing the same thing as KEMA 94.5 Three Rivers's transmitter, which came back to the air recently.

Is "quiet humming" the new format of neglected stations that are out in the middle of no where? LOL
