I don't have direct knowledge of the site, however, several people who do report the night site is in really poor condition and has not been maintained over the years. The day site is a lot closer to Pittsburgh and offers better coverage. I think part of the gift requires WGBN to rent the day site for a few more years. If you have to rent it, use it.
Another option could be request 100 watts night time from the daytime site. A lot of stations are getting rid of their directional patterns and going to 10% of their license power. An example is 620 going from 500 watts into four towers , with 50 watts non-directional. 100 watts from Squirrel Hill should cover a majority of the Intercity.
You don't automatically get 10 percent of your licensed power by going non directional. You have to protect all the other co channel stations to the current level.
They would probably get around 20 watts or so at night non directional.
May 4 2018 1360 is granted a construction permit for 1,000 watts fulltime from the night site in Lincoln borough. May 10 an application for 98.9 with 250 watts is made also from the 1360 site.
